Jab We Met Still Doing Good

All claims by the makers of SAAWARIYA stating that the film was finally finding an audience in the second week have proved to be untrue.

The film has seen a massive fall in the second week and what seemed like at least an average status for the film has also come under a threat. Though the first week billing of SAAWARIYA was much better than just being face saving with as much as 20 crores coming in, more than 80% fall in collections as per the reported centers in the second week shows the writing clear on the wall.

Film has seen a terrible decline all over with major cities like Mumbai accounting for mere 65 lakhs and Delhi being poor at 35 lakhs. Further nail in the coffin has been barely 2-3 shows per multiplex that now remain for the film in it's 3rd week. On the other hand JAB WE MET has shown a huge increase in it's fifth week and is now back with close to 6 shows at majority of multiplexes.

The way SAAWARIYA is going, it may well be time for it's DVD release by the time DUS KAHANIYAAN takes over the screens on 7th December.

GOAL looks at 100% collections over the weekend

Jab Ranbir and Kareena Met!

The Kapoor khandan is all set to revive Raj Kapoor's legendary RK Banner. The three sons of the showman Randhir, Rajiv and Rishi Kapoor are all set to work together in two movies under the family banner next year. The younger generation is not to be left behind Kareena Kapoor is all set to star in a romantic comedy next year while her younger cousin Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a action flick.

Ranbir Kapoor had earlier reveled his interest in taking up direction and reviving his grandfathers RK Banner. The last movie produced under the RK Banner was Aa Aab Laut Chalen in 1999. The shooting for both the movies is set to start at the same time next year and they might even be released close to each other.

Bebo Loves SRK

Kareena Kapoor's ultimate dream is to do a romantic movie with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress can't seem to stop gushing over her favourite actor. "Very frankly I did the Yeh mera dil song in Don because of Shah Rukh. My ultimate wish is to do a full-on love story with him," said the actress whose latest movie Jab We Met is a box-office hit. "When Farhan Akhtar offered me the song I wondered if making a guest appearance was right for me. However, the temptation of doing a song with Shah Rukh got the better of me." Kareena says she is glad she did the song. "It got me tremendous notice. My niece Samaira has become my biggest fan. She dances to the song. And the minute she sees me she starts singing Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana," said the young Kapoor. The actress, who is listening to new scripts every day, has given the go-ahead to only two new projects. "I've decided I can't do run of the mill films any more. I've done enough films without conviction. And it shows in my performances. Unlike my sister Karisma who could look convincing in any role, I've to be convinced about the role." Talk about her movie Omkara and Kareena's face brightens up. "It's one film I'm truly proud of. I'm looking forward to working with Vishal Bharadwaj again. He's one of those rare directors who know how to tap into my potential. I need directors like Vishal and Imtiaz Ali of Jab We Met to come forward and give me a chance. That's why I've taken a long break to get my act together. I don't want to look back on my career with any regrets," she said.

Kareena Comes To Town

BANGALORE: Even as actor Kareena Kapoor, one of the Kapoor khandhan, waxed eloquent about how she chooses films with a strong storyline and a well-etched role, the suave star was stumped when asked for her opinion on low wages for storywriters in the industry, at an event on Sunday.

“I really do not know how much they get paid. That is something I will have to look into,” she said in response to a question on why storywriters get paid only about 2 per cent of the film’s budget.

Ms. Kapoor’s knowledge of the industry might be limited, but at the inauguration of the Shobha Asar exhibition in the city, she was all sophistication as she handled questions with a dash of humour and much diplomacy.

Glowing in a dress in a light shade of emerald green and an eye-catching emerald neck piece to match, Ms. Kapoor said she would love to buy more of the Shobha Asar brand of jewellery.

“But let me work in a few more movies and then I will probably be able to buy more,” she said, referring to the expensive jewellery of her “dear friend” she was here to promote. On her recent success at the box-office with “Jab We Met”, she said that what worked in the movie was the music, locations and fresh storyline and dialogues. “Also the chemistry between the two personalities of Geet and Aditya worked in the movie,” Ms. Kapoor said.

Way to relax

And how does she relax after a day’s work? “Well, after I do a good movie, I go out and buy a huge diamond piece and that makes me happy,” she said.

Of course, there are simpler things such as “70-year-old aunties” who compliment her on her role in “Jab We Met” that makes Ms. Kapoor smile.

Choosy about her roles

Currently working on two movies, she said that while she would love to work in her home production, she is very particular about her role, especially after “Omkara” and “Jab We Met”.

“So my dad is irritated because I am very picky about the role,” she said. But we will hopefully sort it out in the next couple of months,” she added.

Kareena At Femina

Kareena Kapoor promoted the Femina Womenz Carnival event at WTC, Mumbai on November 17.

Kareena wore blue jeans with Anarkali style full skirt silk kurta in bright turquoise blue and pink shades of large flower print. The kurta had a jeweled standup collar with deep v neckline in the front.

Her ethnic eye makeup with thick kajal went well with her outfit but her hair looked unkempt.

Promoted by the Women's magazine, the carnival offered free makeovers; workshops on cooking, fashion and beauty; shop for the top brands in apparel, cosmetics, perfumes and skin care. It also included fashion shows and beauty tips from well known names in the fashion and glamour industry.

Kareena, Bharadwaj team up again

After Omkara, director Vishal Bharadwaj and actress Kareena Kapoor will work again in the postponed love story Mr Singh & Mrs Mehta. The charged actress cannot stop raving about her director. "Yes, I'm going to work with Vishal again. He is such a sweet human being and a fantastic director. His sense of screenplay is outstanding. He's a master at character sketches," said Kareena. "And what a gripping plot in Omkara! He was so focused on his script and not at all awed by stars. It's been a while since I felt so satisfied as an actress," she added. The next Bharadwaj-Kareena project will be a love story about two married people. According to the director, leading man Aamir Khan's departure over a creative conflict is by no means indicative of the project's termination. "No way!" protested Kareena. "How can Vishal not make Mr Singh & Mrs Mehta? It's unthinkable."

Shahid, Kareena won't dub for Milenge Milenge?

Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur's Milenge Milenge is ready the last two years, but without its leading actors' voice. Interestingly the film has some scenes where Shahid will be seen smoking, and that too has been securely passed by the Censor's. According to director Satish Kaushik he was the one who signed Kareena and Shahid Kapoor first, way before even Fida. "Milenge Milenge is a romantic comedy that was completed two years ago. I was the first one to present Shahid-Kareena in a romantic comedy even before Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met. But due to some reasons we had to delay the film." says Kaushik. In August 2005, the government announced a ban on onscreen smoking and also announced that films produced before the ban will have to run a scroll of legible black-on-white health warnings across the bottom of the screen when such scenes are being shown. Speaking about the censer certificate Kaushik says, "In the first half of the film, Shahid will be seen smoking in a few scenes. In the same year the government announced its intention to ban the portrayal of smoking in films, so getting a censor certificate was our main concern, but and we managed to get it." However due to censer certificate concerns, Kaushik was forced to dub his film without his leading actors. "Everything happened quite fast," he tells us. "We chose dubbing artists for Shahid and Kareena's voice, as getting the censor certificate was our man concern. But now we'll be asking Kareena and Shahid to dub for it. Kareena will start dubbing from this week itself while Shahid who is in Bangkok, will dub later. We are planning to release it early next year."

Kareena And Saif

9 November 2007 (Sawf News) - Kareena will be moving into her new apartment Rose Queen at Khar as soon as the construction of the building is completed. Coincidently, or perhaps not so coincidently, a few days back Saif bought a new apartment just two lanes away.

No more long drives from Lokhandwala for the Chhote Nawab and his significant other.

Kareena Kapoor could soon be Saif Ali Khan's girl next door, or rather, two streets away.

Kareena stopped by her new apartment in Khar this week to see how the construction was going.

Kareena and Saif were looking awfully cozy at the Saawariya premiere so these moves could be a very good thing. Of course, if the romance sours they'll have to do some artful dodging to avoid each other.

Given the sparks flying between these two, it's not surprising that Kareena is the top cover girl for fireworks this season.

Yep, fireworks with Bebo's face on them are a bigger seller than those with Aishwarya Rai's.

According to the Calcutta telegraph, Kareena's nearest challenger Priyanka Chopra, is a distant second.

Both ladies will have a long way to go before they can beat the record of Sridevi, whose winsome face sold Diwali fireworks for years.

And while the sparks have fizzled out between Bebo and Shahid Kapoor, they're still side by side in the bazaar. His face is another big fireworks seller.

Jab We Met A Smash Hit

Jab We Met Is A Hit with the Critcis and with the audiences, the film managed to be a big box office opener and i would like to take this oppurtunity to congratulate Kareena for this a great and wonderful film. My overall view the films is that this is the best film for 2007 ive seen 10/10. go and see it now if you havnst seen it all ready.
